Cheek firmly in tongue, Rishi says his biography will skip over stories about the women in his life.

If the indefatigable Rishi Kapoor had his way, his long-in-the-pipline memoir would be titled Son of a Famous Father, Father of a Famous Son. However, the publishers have rejected that title, and Rishi’s biography will now be called Khullam Khulla, after the hit song from his movie Khel Khel Mein.

Speaking about the biography, Rishi says, “It’s the truth of my life. It’s not easy being a son of the great Raj Kapoor, and the father of superstar Ranbir. But considering everything, I’ve done pretty okay for myself.”

The veteran actor is man enough to admit that the memoir, which is being co-written by journalist Meena Iyer, was delayed only because of him. “I’ve gone through the story of my life. Then came the tough part,” he admits. “My co-writer and I needed to go through hundreds and hundreds of pictures that I’ve accumulated over the years through my great grandfather (Prithviraj Kapoor), parents (Raj and Krishna Kapoor), uncles (Shammi and Shashi Kapoor), brothers (Randhir and Rajiv) plus their children and grandchildren! The pictures took longer to be sorted out than we thought.”

So, is Rishi’s biography going to be a tell-all?

“It depends on what you mean by tell-all. If you think I’m going to talk about the women in my life, then sorry my friend, that’s not happening. They are married with children and grandchildren. And so am I,” chortles Chintuji.

But he promises a lot of insight into his life as a grandson, father and husband.
