Kiran Rao to return to the director’s chair

Filmmaker Kiran Rao, who has always stood for strong content and never been driven by profits, reportedly plans to return to direction after seven long years. Dhobi Ghaat, her first film a director, released in 2011. Since then, she’s stuck to production, backing films like Secret Superstar and Talaash.

But a source close Kiran reveals that she has a story in place, she’s scripting it at the moment, and she plans to direct it soon. “Kiran has always been inspired by content-driven stories, and the film that she is scripting is a human drama. It may go on floors in early 2019,” the source says.

We wonder if this one will also feature Kiran’s superstar husband, Aamir Khan, like her last film did.
