Ayushmann Khurrana has thrown his hat in the ring, saying that he would love to play the late eccentric genius.
A while ago, filmmaker Anurag Basu expressed an interest in making a Kishore Kumar biopic with Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role. He’s even been in talks with the maverick actor-singer’s family regarding the project. But it seems Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor is still not over the Jagga Jasoos debacle. And though the filmmaker has given his son the hit film Barfi!, he’s not willing to let the two work together again.
Now, Ayushmann Khurrana has thrown his hat in the ring, saying that he would love to play the late eccentric genius.
“My grandmom used to sing in gurudwaras, and my father is a good singer too. Music runs in my family. When a biopic on Kishore Kumar is made, please cast me! I would love to know more about him,” says Khurrana, who has songs such as Paani Da Rang, Saddi Galli and Nazm Nazm to his credit.
It remains to be seen if Basu takes his plea seriously.
