Bollywood all set for the Big Punjabi Shaadi

Sonam Kapoor’s wedding with Anand Ahuja is a week away. And, the invitations have been sent out to some of the family’s closest friends, among whom are Anupam and Kirron Kher, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and wife Bharti, Jackie and Ayesha Shroff, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

From among Sonam’s colleagues in the film industry, Jacqueline Fernandez, Swara Bhaskar and the rest of the cast of Sonam’s new film Veere Di Wedding are expected to show up in full force.

In addition, all of Anil Kapoor’s brothers and their families are expected to attend. Boney, however, will not participate in the celebrations. There are rumours that Anil’s lately-bereaved brother Boney’s daughters will be dancing to their deceased mother’s songs.

A friend on the invitees’ limited list says that the wedding would be “extremely low key”. There will apparently be around 300-350 guests. The friend says, “Sonam wanted it to be even more low key, but Anil and Sunita have spent close to 35 years in the film industry. They can’t leave out their close friends, of which there are many.”

One of the invitees informs “We haven’t been served a detailed itinerary for the two-day wedding. All we’ve been told is to be there  at the venue on May 7 and 8. We’ve also been requested not to share any details with the media.”
