Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly ordered close to 69 cuts for Saif’s upcoming movie, Kaalakaandi, but the actor is hopeful that the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) will resolve this issue.

Ask him if the film is stuck, and he says, “Atki (stuck) is the wrong word. I think there were a lot of cuts. At FCAT, a lot of films that have got cuts come out with non, or maybe two or three.”

He adds, “It’s a magical place apparently. Eventually, we will get a few cuts, because it’s a lovely movie, and the process is on. The trailer will be out after we know the final cuts.”

Does he think Prasoon Joshi’s appointment as CBFC chief will make things better? “I’m always hopeful and realistic. I don’t know what will happen. Let’s see,” he concludes.
