Pari shoot stalled after technician's death

The accident occurred when the technician allegedly came in contact with a live wire on the sets.

Actress-producer Anushka Sharma’s ambitious movie Pari came to a standstill when a technician died on the sets of the movie on Tuesday. The accident occurred when the technician allegedly came in contact with a live wire on the sets.

On being quizzed about it, Karnesh Sharma, co-owner of Clean Slate Films, said, “We are in touch with the concerned union, and are awaiting its letter telling us the compensation that needs to be paid to the next of kin of the deceases, as per the union laws. We will be happy to comply with the same, as soon as we get the letter.”

He added, “We would also like to clarify that there are several rumours doing the rounds about negligence on the part of the deceased, which led to the unfortunate incident. However, we would like to set the record straight that he had complied with all necessary safety norms and this was just an extremely unfortunate accident.”

The incident took place at the outdoor shoot location at Korolberia, in West Bengal’s South 24 Paraganas district. The shoot of the film at the location has reportedly been temporarily stalled.
