Earlier this year, actor Sidharth Malhotra got into trouble for mocking the Bhojpuri language while on the sets of Bigg Boss. Now, it looks like he’s going to have to master that very tongue for his next film!
Sidharth appeared on the reality show along with Manoj Bajpayee, and when he was asked to repeat some Bhojpuri dialogues, he said it felt like he was sitting on a toilet. Not surprisingly, his comment was called out as offensive by actress Neetu Chandra and actor-politician Manoj Tiwari, and the actor ended up apologising for it.
His next film, tentatively titled Shotgun Shaadi, will have him doing exactly what made him cringe so hard – mouthing Bhojpuri dialogues.
“Things have come full circle for Sidharth, who plays a Bhojpuri-speaking character in his next film. It’s poetic justice. In this industry, you never know what character you will play, and who you will work with. So, it’s important to keep your mouth shut instead of trying to be smart,” says an actor on condition of anonymity.
