A 21-year-old woman was allegedly abducted outside a restaurant in South Delhi and gangraped by three men in a moving car for almost two hours on Saturday before being dumped under a flyover barely a kilometre from the Delhi police headquarters.
The victim claimed that the suspects were not known to her, but she managed to note down the registration number of the car in which the alleged crime took place.
The police subsequently traced and seized the grey colour Swift car and are questioning its owner who has claimed innocence.
“The three suspects too have been identified, but are yet to be arrested. We have registered a case on the basis of the victim’s statement and are investigating the incident,” said a senior police officer.
The officer, however, refused to reveal the identities of the suspects, citing hindrance to the ongoing probe. Sources said at least one of the three is a foreign-returned youth.
The victim lives in a rented accommodation in East Delhi’s Jagatpuri with a male friend.
The accused allegedly took turns to rape her for the next two hours before dumping her under a flyover in central Delhi’s IP Estate area.
