Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Friday alleged that many AAP MLAs were running extortion rackets and were forcing shopkeepers, industrialists and wholesalers in their respective constituency to give weekly payoffs to avoid harassment.

He urged lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung to order a high-level inquiry into the issue. “If it is not nipped in bud, it will have serious repercussions on Delhi’s trade and business culture,” he added.
