The Delhi police on Friday arrested two members of an alleged fake currency circulation racket. The police also recovered counterfeit notes of face value Rs 2 lakh, routed through Malda, from their possession, the police said.

Vikas Kashyap, the kingpin of the racket, and his associate Rohit Saxena were caught by a crime branch team as they settled a deal with a decoy customer at Adarsh Mohalla in Maujpur, the joint commissioner of police said.

The 400 fine quality fake Indian currency notes (FICN) of denomination Rs 500 recovered from them were routed from Malda in West Bengal, he said.

Kashyap revealed during interrogation that he was introduced to FICN circulation by Mohammad Zafar and Mohammad Abutala, whom he had met through Prem Chand, the Delhi-NCR kingpin of the racket.
