Three BJP chief ministers to campaign in Delhi
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi BJP is planning to rope in newly-elected chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra to campaign during the upcoming Assembly elections in the city. The BJP is working project these three chief ministers, who have risen from the grassroots, as the real aam aadmi.
According to a senior Delhi-BJP leader, the party unit will soon send names of these chief ministers to central party leadership, seeking permission to get them to campaign for the Assembly elections here. “We have planned to rope in chief ministers of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra to campaign for the party in the upcoming Assembly elections,” the BJP leader said.
As per the plan, during poll campaign, the BJP will project the three chief ministers as the real aam aadmi to garner support of the grassroots, and puncture the claims of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal that he represents common people.
During the rally, the Prime Minister on Saturday had praised the real aam aadmi chief ministers of these three states where the BJP received thumping majority in the recently-concluded Assembly elections.
Taking on the AAP and Mr Kejriwal, BJP president Amit Shah too had said that those who call themselves “aam aadmi” should look to these three chief ministers to know the real common man. “As the BJP has not announced its chief ministerial candidate so far, we have to make a foolproof plan to deal with the Aam Aadmi Party, which has a stronghold among grassroots, be it those living in unauthorised colonies or e-rickshaw drivers,” he said.
“Keeping in mind all these things, we will ask the newly-elected CMs, Manohar Lal Khattar, Devendra Fadnavis and Raghubar Das to campaign in the city and we will tell voters about their common background,” he added. The BJP feels that if the three chief ministers, who come from humble backgrounds, campaign for the party in the upcoming election, a message will reach the people of Delhi that the BJP gives opportunity and responsibilities to the common man.
“Only in BJP, the party workers are given important responsibilities and I, who is the son a labourer, am now the chief minister of Jharkhand,” Mr Das had said while addressing the rally.
