Six persons were killed on Friday when their speeding car rammed into a stationary dumper on the national highway in Samaypur Badli area of Outer Delhi.

The car was badly mangled by the impact as it hit the backside of the dumper which was stationed on the road for a change of tyre.

The occupants of the vehicle were retrieved with much difficulty after cutting the metal body of the car, the police said.

The deceased have been identified as DLF Phase III resident Ansar Ahmad, Sultanpur (UP) resident Vikas, Sonia Vihar resident Vivek Tiwari, Lalbagh (Ghaziabad) resident Nishant, Mahavir En-clave resident Dipak, and Sonia Vihar resident Am-it. All the deceased were in the age group 25-30 years, said a senior police officer.

“The police received a call about the accident around 4.30 in the morning. The cops who reached at the spot found the car occupants entangled in the mangled heap of metal body of the vehicle and had to use gas cutter to free them,” he said.

All the six were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them dead.

The deceased were reportedly headed towards Sonepat when the accident occurred near Budhpur village. The police found a tyre and some soil on the spot and later traced the stationary vehicle as a dumper and caught its driver Santosh from Bakauli village.
