The anti-corruption branch of the Delhi government has sent a notice to former chief minister Sheila Dikshit, asking her to join investigation in connection with four cases registered in the alleged water meter scam. The anti-graft body has sent two notices to the former Delhi chief minister — in one, she has been asked to join the investigation and in the second, she has been requested to inform the agency about convenient time and place for the questioning to take place.

Four FIRs were registered by the AAP government during its previous 49-day rule in 2014 in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board during the Dikshit government. The AAP-led government had directed the ACB to register FIRs in these cases of alleged irregularities in the DJB that allegedly caused a loss of Rs 341 crore to the state exchequer.

Last month, the ACB had registered a case as part of this investigation, but had not named Ms Dikshit.

Accusing lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung and ACB chief M.K. Meena of “shielding” Ms Dikshit in the alleged water meter scam, city water minister Kapil Mishra said on Wed-nesday that the anti-graft body is implicating chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and him in a “wrong” case.
