Seven school students were reportedly injured when the van carrying them to school turned turtle on National Highway 1 in Alipur area of Outer Delhi on Thursday morning.
Seven school students were reportedly injured when the van carrying them to school turned turtle on National Highway 1 in Alipur area of Outer Delhi on Thursday morning.
The police said that the accident occurred at the red light on the NH 1 near Khampur village when the school van carrying students of Jain Bharti Senior Secondary School at Budhpur hit the central verge on the road at a high speed at around 7.30 am.
An eyewitnesses said the driver of the school van lost control while trying to avoid hitting a motorcycle that suddenly came in front. As a result, the schoolbus, carrying 12 students, rammed into a road divider and overturned.
The van was coming from Lampur village after picking up twelve students of the school. All the children were sent to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in Narela where seven children were treated for minor injuries and all are out of danger, said a senior police officer.
The police seized the van and apprehended its driver Anil, 36, who belongs to Lampur village, he said.
On October 15, three students of a private university in Noida were killed and seven others injured when the SUV in which they were going on a trip to Murthal rammed into a bricks-laden tractor trolley in outer Delhi’s Alipur area.
