SDMC trade licence facility goes online
Business establishments in South Delhi will now be able to procure trade licences online, as the civic body on Monday launched a facility to make the process easier and more transparent.
South Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Subhash Arya said that the general trade license application has been simplified and made online which will benefit the traders and help in reducing corruption. He said by implementation of this service, citizens conducting commercial/professional activities can get trade licences without coming to the municipal office and they will be able to generate it online. “We have planned massive publicity drive to create awareness amongst the stakeholders regarding the new initiatives,” he said.
South Corporation standing committee chairman Radhey Shyam Sharma said the SDMC issues general trade/storage licences to the traders/establishments for all permitted trade activities as defined under the DMC Act.
“We will be offering the service online at a reasonable rate. There will be minimal human interface and the number of documents needed would be reduced,” said Leader of the House Ashish Sood.
Applicants will need to upload proof of legal occupancy, an ID proof, a photograph of establishment, a copy of PAN/VAT/TIN, a site plan, a sanctioned building plan and a self-declaration/undertaking.
