The Congress on Tuesday announced that its top leaders, led by vice-president Rahul Gandhi, will take part in a protest march on Saturday, May 28. Party leaders will demonstrate against the AAP government demanding proper water and electricity in the state capital. The party has planned to take “Mashal Juloos” (grand rally) against chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is busy in his political expansion of party in Goa and Punjab. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ajay Maken said Rahul will lead the rally from Raj Ghat to the Delhi Secretariat, the administrative headquarters of the city government, around 6.30 pm.
“Rahulji will lead the Mashal Juloos (torch light procession) against Power/Water woes- And the apathy of Governments in Delhi on May 28 from Rajghat at 6.30 pm,” Mr Maken tweeted. Mr Maken said the power and water woes were due to the “constant clashes” between AAP and BJP and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s “habit” of locking horns with the Centre on each and every issue. The state unit of the Congress will also hold district-level meetings for four days from May 24 to 27 and prepare ‘position papers’ on the power and water scenario.
