On Sunday, Delhi Congress spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee said that the accusations made by AAP MLA Devender Sehrawat against DDC vice-chairman Ashish Khetan for allegedly lobbying for private bus companies should be thoroughly investigated.

Ms Mukherjee quoting the letter said that in a letter to Mr Kejriwal, AAP MLA from Bijwasan Devender Sehrawat has cast serious allegations against Ashish Khetan, vice-chairman of Delhi Dialogue Commission, accusing him of lobbying for private bus companies. Terming DDC as a ‘white elephant’, Mr Sehrawat wrote in his letter: “Delhi Dialogue Commission had a suspicious role in the proposal for shuttle bus service The Commission being known as Delhi Dalal Commission.”

She said that it is an extremely serious allegation made against one of the most senior leaders of AAP and a key advisor to the chief minister. “Aam Admi Party was formed on high moral principles, and fighting corruption was it raison d’être. Since assuming office, within a short span of 18 months, the Aam Admi Party and AAP government have been embroiled in various controversies. Its ministers and senior leaders have been allegedly involved in a diverse range of criminal activities including forged degree, domestic violence, corruption and molestation and rape. The party that was purportedly formed with the idea of ushering in an era of clean politics has miserably failed to keep its promises both in terms of good governance and its lofty principles,” said Sharmistha Mukherjee.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee demands that the allegations made against DDC vice-chairman Ashish Khetan should be thoroughly investigated, not only to find out any alleged wrong-doing, but also to place the truth before the people of Delhi.
