Over 450 challaned on 8th day of odd-even
Enforcement teams of the Delhi government and Delhi traffic police booked as many as 488 motorists for violating the odd-even scheme on Friday.

Enforcement teams of the Delhi government and Delhi traffic police booked as many as 488 motorists for violating the odd-even scheme on Friday.
The Delhi traffic police challaned 203 violators, while the transport department and district administration teams booked 285 people for driving odd-numbered vehicles.
On Thursday, officials had issued 293 challans. The curb on vehicles under the scheme is enforced between 8 am and 8 pm on weekdays.
A penalty of Rs 2,000 under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act is levied on violators of the road-rationing scheme.
April 15, the first day of odd-even second phase had seen a total of 1,311 challans. The figures came down subsequently as penal action slowed down movement of vehicles leading to congestion.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government on Friday launched a special drive against autorickshaw drivers and challaned 475 of them for violating various rules and refusing to ferry commuters.
Delhi transport minister Gopal Rai said the drive will continue for the next few days. “We have issued challans to 475 autorickshaw drivers for violating different rules and refusing to ferry passengers,” he told reporters.
Mr Rai said a complaint can be registered on 011-42400400 if any autorickshaw driver refuses to ferry commuters.
