Following an uproar over Leader of the Opposition Vijendar Gupta taking an exception to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks in connection with the Pu-njab polls, the Oppos-ition leaders staged a walkout from the Delhi Assembly special session on Friday. Mr Gupta and fellow legislator Jagdish Pradhan walk-ed out of the Assembly even before the proceedings could begin.
Mr Kejriwal, who hit an election campaign trail in Punjab on Thursday, had accused the SAD-BJP government of conspiring to discredit his party by levelling false accusations.
“I want to say that I have come (to Punjab) and I will be pitching my tent here... In between, however, I will go to Delhi for 2-3 days, but I will not leave from here till we send the Badals to jail,” he had said.
At the start of the Assembly session, Mr Gupta asked deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia as to what Mr Kejriwal meant by his statement. Soon, some of the AAP MLAs entzered into an argument with him and after about 20 minutes, both Mr Gupta and Mr Pradhan walked out of the House.
