Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining silence over issues like Vyapam scam and Modigate and equated Mr Modi with his predecessor Dr Manmohan Singh.

“It was under the regime of Manmohan Singh that 2G scam, coal scam and other massive corruption took place, but he never took any action and he never uttered a word. In the same way, scams like vyapam, Modigate took place in front of Prime Minister Modi, even the Khadse episode took place. But he didn’t take any action, he is just like Manmohan Singh,” Mr Kejriwal told a news agency. “Prime Minister Modi says he hasn’t done corruption and the same thing was said by Manmohan Singh also. The latter was an honest person, but was he transacting money No,” he said.

Mr Kejriwal added that just like his predecessor, the Prime Minister was not taking any concrete action over any scams. “The same system is prevailing, earlier it was 2G scam, now it is Vyapam, earlier it was coal scam now it is AgustaWestland, only the names of the scams have been changed,” he said.

Mr Kejriwal, who has battled the Centre over several issues, said in the past two years, Prime Minister Modi has made enemies in almost all sections of the society. “The students all across the country are angry with him, the minorities are not happy with his approach, the farmers, the dalits, traders, businessman and jewellers everyone is unhappy with him,” he added.

The Delhi chief minister said he is surprised that the Prime Minister is not even taking any action against the Congress party.

Maintaining that hooliganism has spread in the country under the ruling NDA government, Mr Kejriwal said that even senior journalists are getting trolled and abused online by Mr Modi’s army.
