Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav, on Thursday, led a demonstration in Lucknow demanding justice for the Delhi gangrape victim Nirbhaya.

Held under the aegis of B-Aware foundation, Ms Aparna Yadav led scores of supporters at the women power line crossing where she released hundreds of black balloons to register a protest against the “injustice” to the rape victim.

Huge hoarding claimed that the day was being observed as a “Black Day’” and added that protests would continue till Nirbhaya was given justice.

It is noteworthy that the Samajwadi leadership has maintained a studied silence on the release of the juvenile convict.

Addressing the gathering, Aparna said the convict might have been released since he was a juvenile, but they would not allow him to enter his native place in Uttar Pradesh.

“We will take all efforts to ensure that he lands in jail again,” Aparna said and demanded observing “Shahidi Diwas” on the death anniversary of the rape victim on December 29.
