Slain NDMC legal adviser M.M. Khan’s daughter Iqra Khan on Monday requested BJP MP from East Delhi Maheish Girri to end his hungerstrike as her family did not want the matter to be politicised.
Talking to this newspaper, Iqra Khan, a final year medical student, requested BJP and AAP leaders not to politicise her father’s martyrdom. “I request to stop politics on my father’s death. We are just seeking justice for my father. We are very simple people and we don’t understand politics and we don’t want to do politics,” she said.
Ms Khan said that Mr Girri, who is on an indefinite hungerstrike, had not visited the family of the slain officer, who lives in his constituency. “I met home minister Rajnath Singh at his residence. He extended every possible support to my family,” she said.
“My family is satisfied with the ongoing investigation in the case. I have faith in the Delhi police. I request all politicians to stop claiming themselves innocent and let the investigating agency give them a clean chit. Till the time the investigation process is on, I request politicians to stop this blame game politics on my father’s martyrdom,” she said.
“Our chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is available to my family every time we needed. We have to just drop a SMS to CM sir in case we need any support,” she added.
