This was the first such meeting between the two following the Delhi high court’s verdict last week stamping the primacy of the L-G in the city administration.
In the meeting which lasted for half-an-hour, the two discussed various issues pertaining to the Aam Aadmi Party government, including the recent development after the high court order held L-G as the administrative head of the national capital. Sources said that no official, either from the L-G office or the Delhi Government was present in the meeting held at the lieutenant-governor’s secretariat in the evening.
“It was a general discussion between the L-G and the deputy chief minister. However, there will be detailed discussion on the high court order and other issues once chief minister Arvind Kejriwal comes back from Dharamsala where he is undergoing a 10-day vipassana session,” a source said. The CM is scheduled to resume work on August 12. Earlier in the day, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party slammed Mr Jung for his remark that he was not averse to mulling over scrapping the Delhi Assembly if such a proposal was brought before him. In an interview to a private news channel, Mr Jung also said an apology was due from Kejriwal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling him names.
