A 24-year-old man was killed and his brother injured in an attack by another pair of brothers in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, the police said on Tuesday.

Vikas and his brother Kuldeep were attacked on Monday night by Ratan and Raju over a petty issue. Ratan and Raju were tenants in a house owned by the brothers’ aunt. Vikas and Kuldeep also lived in the same area.

According to sources, Ratan and Raju, both drivers, used to indulge in arguments with their landlady. On Monday night, they again had an argument with the landlady, leading to an argument between them and Vikas, a security guard.

“During the heated argument, Vikas called his brother Kuldeep and it soon turned into an ugly fight,” a witness told the police.

Raju whipped out a knife and stabbed Vikas several times in his chest due to which he fell on the ground. They also stabbed Kuldeep and fled from the scene. Both the injured were rushed to hospital, where Vikas was pronounced dead. Kuldeep, who works for a private firm, is undergoing treatment.

Deputy commissioner of police Vijay Singh said a case of murder has been registered and a search has been launched to nab both the accused.
