A 25-year-old man killed his wife by hitting her with a brick and repeatedly banging her head on a wall following a heated argument at their residence in West Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area on May 30 after he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair. Senior police officers of the West district arrested the accused, identified as Pradeep Sharma. Meanwhile, sources said that after killing her, Pradeep also indulged in the act of necrophilia.
According to the police, it received a PCR call at around 2 pm on May 30 that a woman, Monika (23) is lying in a pool of blood. There were injuri-es on her face and the back side of her head. Moreover, her husband was missing and had fled with her mobile phone. Local residents also informed the cops that the couple often fought.
The police tried to contact the victim’s family members but in vain. However, they got in touch with Monika’s sister who informed that Monika and Pradeep had a love marriage three years back.
Teams were formed to solve the case. Police received a tip-off that Pradeep was planning to leave Delhi in a train. Surveillance on all the railway stations was maintained by the police. After two days, the police apprehended Pradeep.
During interrogation, Pradeep informed that he often fought with his wife as he thought she was having an affair. On May 30, in a moment of rage, he hit her with a brick. However, thinking her to be alive, he banged Monika’s head repeatedly against the wall.
Sensing that people were there outside their house, he stayed back and left the next morning.
