Make stand clear on demolition, BJP to AAP government
The Delhi BJP, in a letter to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, has demanded that the AAP government should clarify its stand on demolitions carried out around religious places in Chandni Chowk. BJP media in-charge Praveen Shankar Kapoor wrote in the letter that the matter was under consideration in the Delhi high court has been placed by an NGO and others who have no concern for Chandni Chowk’s history and heritage.
Mr Kapoor wrote that this issue has been dealt with by officials who consider Chandni Chowk a tourist spot instead of a centre of culture and trade.
“In view of their own agenda to project Chandni Chowk as a tourism centre these officials never placed before the court the views of local residents, traders and religious devotees. They have tried to mislead the court and the people by presenting dreams as schemes. They have constantly created circumstances whereby the court ordered the demolitions,” said Mr Kapoor.
