Lured by job offer, mother of five gangraped

In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old woman, who is a mother of five children, was allegedly gangraped by three men in Bhalaswa Dairy area of Northwest Delhi following which one of the accused has been arrested by the police. The victim has alleged in her complaint that one Noor Alam raped her on Tuesday.

Further, in her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC, she has named two more accused of raping her, said a senior police official. One of the accused, Noor Alam, has been arrested and efforts are on to arrest the other two accused.

The names of the absconding accused came up late as the victim had not mentioned their name in her complaint with police, said the official.

The police said that the woman lived at Bhalaswa Dairy with her family. Her husband works in some factory at Ludhiana.

She alleged that Noor Alam had promised to help her get a job on October 11. She said that Noor had called her near Mukundpur from where he had taken her to Bhalaswa Dairy in auto and later raped her in a room after offering her a drink laced with some sedative.

The victim also alleged that the accused threatened her to refrain from going to the police or lodge complaint against him. Later, she registered her complaint at Bhalaswa Dairy police station and was sent for medical examination. Police said that the woman had met Noor Alam while visiting a woman known to her at Mukundpur.

In another incident, two robbers on Saturday looted cash and jewellery after taking an elderly woman hostage at gun point in Timarpur area of North Delhi, the police said.

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, occurred around 7.30 am when 60-year-old Vinod was alone in her house in Gandhi Vihar area, a senior police officer said. The woman told the police that she had responded to a doorbell and as soon as she opened the door the duo barged inside, he said.
