Jeweller shot dead by bikers Gurgaon, March 5: A 39-year-old jeweller was shot dead on Friday night by two unidentified assailants in Hans Enclave area here, the police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred at around 9 pm on Friday night when two motorcycle-borne assailants shot Pawan inside his shop, they said.
Prima facie, it is a case of murder caused by personal animosity as both the accused initially had a heated argument with Pawan before he was shot. No valuables were taken away, Gurgaon assistant commissioner of police Hawa Singh said.
“The accused fired two rounds at Pawan from close range. One of the bullets pierced his neck, killing him on the spot,” Mr Singh said.
“After hearing gunshots, people working in nearby shops ran to Pawan’s help but the assailants managed to escape,” he added.
The police have registered a case of murder against two unidentified persons at Sadar police station and are now examining the CCTV footage of Hans Enclave and adjoining intersections to get leads in the case.
No arrests have been made till now, Mr Singh said.
