Japanese held for thrashing executive

A female executive working with a Japanese firm was held captive, harassed, and beaten up by her Japanese boss for opposing his rude behaviour in South Delhi’s Meharauli.

According to the police, the accused boss, Taishi Yoshimura, had been sending her threat messages and emails with lewd remarks to the 24-year-old victim.

The victim was also subjected to racist comments by the accused. After being harassed for a long time, the victim decided to confront her boss but this proved costly to her.

“The victim asked him why he had been sending her threat messages with lewd remarks. This angered the accused. He asked her to return his laptop so that he could delete all his emails. The accused also asked the victim to hand him over her cell phone saying he would delete the entire data. When the victim refused, Yoshimura threw his phone at her,” the police said.

The victim was horrified and tried to run, but the accused locked the door of his room. He then asked her objectionable questions and began to beat her.

The source said that the victim was kicked in her stomach and punched in the face.

The victim suffered injuries and started to cry. Meanwhile, the accused opened the door and the victim ran away to save her life.

The victim narrated the entire ordeal to her father, a doctor by profession, and her friends. They told her to approach the police as the matter was very serious.

Her relatives took her to Mehrauli police station where they lodged an FIR against the accused. The police took the victim to AIIMS Hospital for medical examination. A case was lodged under relevant sections of IPC.

“The accused was arrested from the office. He denied hitting the victim,” the police said adding that they had informed the Japanese embassy about the matter.

A report in this regard was also sent to the ministry of external affairs by the police.

The police said that they were further looking into the matter.
