A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Raipur, with 170 passengers and crew members on board, was forced to land at the IGI Airport on Saturday after a crack was detected on its windshield by the pilot. However, IndiGo airline said there was no report of a windshield crack on the plane.
The airline said that hydraulic system low pressure was detected after which the pilot asked for an emergency landing. The Delhi ATC declared local stand-by for the flight and the flight landed safely on runway 27/09.
“IndiGo flight 6E 454 from Raipur to Delhi was detected with the hydraulic system low pressure. The captain-in-command immediately alerted the air traffic control, and as a precautionary measure asked for a longer vector so that he could configure himself for an early landing at the IGI Airport. The ATC permitted the approach and therefore a normal landing was carried out at. As per the design of the aircraft, the hydraulic system redundancy permits a normal landing in a situation such as this. Hence, the aircraft was taxied and parked at the bay normally. There was no report of windshield crack on the flight,” said an IndiGo spokesperson.
