A Delhi court on Thursday rejected the Delhi police plea seeking cancellation of bail of the juvenile involved in the sensational Mercedes hit and run case.

A Delhi court on Thursday rejected the Delhi police plea seeking cancellation of bail of the juvenile involved in the sensational Mercedes hit and run case.
The Juvenile Justice Board had granted him bail, but the police had approached the sessions court against the board’s order and had sought the cancellation of the bail.
The juvenile had killed Siddharth Sharma, 32, by running over him with his Mercedes.
The sister of the victim had approached the court against the order of the JJB and the police had supported her move, saying that the relief had been wrongly granted.
“The JJB had granted bail to the boy without any fresh bail application. The board had first denied bail to the boy on April 19. Thereafter, he was granted bail on April 26 by the board without filing of a fresh application which was wrong,“ public prosecutor Atul Shrivastava argued.
He added that the prosecution was not even shown the psychological report of the boy due to which it could not argue on that aspect. The submission of the public prosecutor was opposed by the counsel of the juvenile. They said that the juvenile was rightly granted bail and it was for the welfare of the youth.
