Head constable’s wife shot dead in west Delhi
A Delhi police head constable’s wife was shot dead by unidentified armed assailants in Bindapur area of west Delhi on Monday morning. According to information, the police got a call that a woman was shot at near pillar number 745 of Delhi Metro at around 7.15 am. The police took the woman to Mata Roop Rani Hospital where she was declared brought dead by the doctors. “The deceased was identified as Anita (40), wife of Delhi police head constable Om Bir Singh. Her body has been sent to Deen Dyal Updhyay Hospital for post-mortem. Singh is currently posted with 3rd battalion. Anita used to work as ward assistant in the Army Hospital,” said a police official. The official added that an FIR under Section 302 and Arms Act had been lodged at the Bindapur police station. Meanwhile, a police source said the assailants might have personal rivalry with Om Bir and they might have wanted to teach him a lesson by killing his wife. “The assailants had come with a plan. They might have conducted recee of the deceased before executing their plan. They shot at the woman as soon as they found her alone. They did not rob anything and fled from the crime scene,” said the source. The source added that police was conducting raids to nab the assailants. Anita is survived by two sons, Sameer alias Shonki and Rahul. The police added that Rahul is their adopted son.
