A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a juvenile in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area.
A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a juvenile in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area. The accused, however, managed to escape despite being caught by the victim’s mother, the police said on Friday.
The victim had gone to a local shop in the Pochanpur area when she was waylaid by the 16 year-old accused who took her to a deserted place and allegedly raped her last Tuesday night, said a police official. The girl, somehow, walked back to her home and told her mother about the incident. Her mother searched for the accused and managed to catch him, but he managed to escape bef-ore the police arrived.
The girl was taken to DDU Hospital, where the doctors operated on her for her injuries, said a senior police officer. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Pocso Act. The police has launched a search operation to nab the accused who is still absconding, he said.
Meanwhile in another incident, a 20-year-old youth sexually assaulted his four-year-old neighbour in west Delhi’s Jawahar Nagar area. The accused, Kuldeep, told the girl’s parents that he was taking the girl to a nearby temple on Thursday evening, said a senior police official. When the girl returned, she was crying and told her parents that Kuldeep had touched her inappropriately, the officer added.
Kuldeep has been arrested and a case under relevant sections of Pocso has been registered, the police said.
The victim’s father and the accused work at liquor vends and were very cordial with each other. The girl’s parents trusted Kuldeep and didn’t object when he took the girl to temple, said the official.
