Fee hike at St Stephen’s second year in a row

Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College on Thursday announced an increase in fees for all undergraduate courses from the upcoming academic session by approximately 15 per cent.

Delhi University’s St. Stephen’s College on Thursday announced an increase in fees for all undergraduate courses from the upcoming academic session by approximately 15 per cent. This is the second year in a row that the college has increased its fees.

Admission fees for undergraduate courses for each semester has been increased from Rs 2,425 to Rs 2,635. Admission prospectus includes all information on new fees structure.

The students pay three types of fees — course fee, residence fee and mess fee. While course fees changes for each subject, the residence fees and mess fees for all students are the same.

Last year, the college charged Rs 16,965 for first semester from humanities students, which has increased to Rs 19,390 this year. On the other hand, the students had to pay Rs 17,955 for physics, chemistry honours and B.Sc. last year which has been increased to Rs 20,590.

For B.Sc. mathematics students, fees has been increased from Rs 17,145 to Rs 19,570.

Residence fees is likely to witness a hike of Rs 500. Till last year, the students were asked to pay Rs 26,050 as residence fees. There are two semesters in one academic year and fees for both the semesters are different. Next semester will begin in January.

However, no increase in the mess fees has been announced till now.
