Concerned with the mosquito breeding in offices, workplaces and other institutions, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has urged the administrative heads of all government and autonomous bodies to initiate suitable steps to prevent mosquito breeding for the prevention of dengue. EDMC commissioner Mohanjeet Singh said that effective control of the dengue is not possible until appropriate steps are taken simultaneously in residential areas and in office or commercial complexes to prevent mosquito breeding.
To prevent mosquito breeding at non-residential complexes or places, Mr Singh has appealed administrative heads of all government and autonomous bodies, educational institutions, commercial establishments, market associations as well as citizens to initiate suitable steps to prevent dengue. Last year, 775 dengue cases were reported from the EDMC areas.
