The date and venue for the counting of votes will be announced later, DU registrar Tarun Das said in an official statement.
The nomination papers for the office bearers are to be submitted to the office of the chief election officer, Dusu elections 2016-17, latest by September 1.
Nomination papers for membership of the central council are to be obtained from the concerned colleges/departments or institutions and are also to be submitted by the same date. “The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on September 1 following which the list of duly nominated candidates will be published on the same day. While the last date for submission of bank drafts as security deposit by the candidates is on September 2, they can withdraw their nominations till September 4,” the statement said.
Last week, the varsity had appointed a team of officials including a chief election officer and a chief returning officer for smooth conduct of the elections.
Dusu is the representative body of students from most colleges and faculties.
