Two unidentified men allegedly held a person at gunpoint and robbed him of an SUV from outside a prominent hotel in South Delhi on Friday.
The incident took place Friday evening when Kasinder Yadav, a driver by profession, was waiting for his employer not very far from a prominent hotel in Vasant Kunj area, when two youths approached him and pulled out a gun, a police official said.
The duo allegedly pointed the gun at Mr Yadav and asked for the keys, following which they fled with the Toyota Fortuner car, the official said. He said the incident was reported to the police by the locals who rushed to help Mr Yadav after the accused fled the spot.
Mr Yadav works as a driver for Delhi-based aroma therapist, Dr Blossom Kochhar. Her daughter Samantha Kochhar said that the incident took place near an unmanned police post in the area.
“The whole incident reeks of police apathy. The check post which is usually manned by two policemen did not have any of them present there at the time of the incident,” she claimed.
