A Dubai-based woman has filed a complaint against a Delhi-based man for blackmailing her.
A Dubai-based woman has filed a complaint against a Delhi-based man for blackmailing her. She alleged that she was in contact with the accused on a social media website and had even exchanged some of her pictures and videos with him. The accused had allegedly threatened her that he would upload her pictures and videos on the Internet sites and had demanded money from her.
Police sources said the victim came to the contact of the accused through social networking site Facebook and she shared some of her pictures and videos with him. The accused later told her that he wanted to send her a gift and for that she needed to pay some charge to the courier service in Delhi, which the complainant agreed to do so. Later, she received another call from a courier agent from Delhi who asked her to pay $550, which she paid to him via online transaction as per her commitment to the accused.
Later, she got another call from the accused in which he asked her to pay some insurance charge and demanded $2,200 more, however, this time the victim refused to pay more money to him.
The accused then forced her to pay the money or he will get her video uploaded on the YouTube and also send it to her family and office to tarnish her image in her social circle.
The victim in her complaint alleged that the accused insisted her to pay the rest of the money or threatening her to face dire consequences and he would ruin her. She added that she has a doubt that the man to whom she had been chatting and the courier agent had same name of Anthony.
Meanwhile, the police filed an FIR at the IGI Airport police station and is investigating the matter.
