The Delhi government has simplified application procedure for electricity connection in the city for all consumers in the national capital. The AAP government has advised the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission to reduce the number of documents to two for the electricity connection application forms.

City power secretary Sukesh Kumar Jain said that the Kejriwal government had recently advised the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission to make the electricity connection application form simpler and to reduce the number of documents from multiple documents (e.g. proof of ownership, ID proof, test report, architect certificate, address proof, indemnity bond, NoC of owner etc.) to only two documents irrespective of load and category.

This has been implemented and now all the consumers seeking electricity connections in Delhi will apply with a revised and much simpler form which requires only two documents to be enclosed. Mr Jain also said that this step by the Delhi government will make obtaining electricity connection simpler not only for the domestic consumers, but also for commercial and industrial consumers.
