Delhi’s AAP government hardened its stance Monday and told the Union home ministry it will not implement the order overturning the suspension of two Danics officers, saying this would lead to “widespread indiscipline, insubordination and complete paralysis”.
In a letter to home minister Rajnath Singh, deputy CM Manish Sisodia said Delhi’s home minister was “superior” to the special secretaries working under him and therefore had “lawful power” to place them under suspension. “Implementing the MHA order will seriously undermine the authority of an elected government and promote widespread indiscipline and insubordination,” he said, and also noted the “communication from the MHA is merely a letter, and not an order of the President of India”.
The MHA had said Friday the suspensions were invalid.
