Delhi CM wants ‘azadi’ from L-G, Centre interference
Right after the midnight speech of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal seems to have a favourite buzz word, “azadi.” Mr Kejriwal also used the “azadi” slogan to highlight interference faces from the BJP government at the Centre.
“Hum kya maangte, azadi. LG ke hastakshep se azadi. Kendra ke hastakshep se azadi. Janta ko nirnay lene ki azadi. Rajnaitik ahankaar se azadi (We want freedom. Freedom from L-G’s interference. Freedom from Centre’s interference. The freedom of people to take decisions. Freedom from political arrogance),” Mr Kejriwal tweeted after praising Mr Kumar’s speech.
“Heard Kanhaiya’s speech many times. Amazing clarity of thought expressed wonderfully. He said what most people have been feeling,” Mr Kejriwal tweeted, adding that he had warned PM Narendra Modi over interference in students issues. “I told you several times Modiji (Prime Minister), don’t mess with students. Modiji did not pay heed.” The netizens on Twitter also compared the Delhi chief minister and JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar. “Congress gave us Kerjiwal, BJP has given Kanhaiya,” posted a user.Mr Kejriwal had supported Kanhaiya after his arrest. He, however, had not supported the anti-India slogans.
