Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday launched a vociferous atta-ck against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that the case linking his government to the alleged Rs 400-crore water tanker scam has been lodged by the anti-corruption branch on the PM’s behest and claimed that he has stood like a “rock” against Mr Modi’s “misdeeds.”
In an aggressive statement, Mr Kejriwal dared Mr Modi to lodge “as many FIRs and get as many CBI raids conducted against me as he can,” asserting such “coercive” methods would not “scare” him or the Aam Aadmi Party into silence.
“I am the only person standing like a rock against the misdeeds of the Mr Modi, which is he is not being able to digest. No CBI raid has been conducted against Congress president Sonia Gandhi or the party’s vice-president Rahul Gandhi. Not an FIR against Robert Vadra or Sonia. But they target me and that essentially means that Modiji you too acknowledge that your fight is directly against me,” he said.
Mr Kejriwal claimed that “an FIR was registered against me under the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” The FIR, however, does not mention either Mr Kejriwal or the former CM Sheila Dikshit.
“He (Mr Modi) had ordered a CBI raid on me six months ago. Now top officers are probing the case, but they have not found a penny. The raid was fake and in a similar way, the FIR is completely fake and nothing is going to come out of it,” he said.
The Delhi CM wondered why no action had been taken by the Centre against Mrs Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, contrary to the BJP’s pre-poll rhetoric. He also questioned the Centre’s “inaction” against Mrs Gandhi in the AgustaWestland scam. “I want to make one thing clear to Modiji that I am not Rahul Gandhi. I am not Sonia Gandhi who you will manage to pressurise. I am not Vadra with whom you will enter into a setting. I will die, but won’t tolerate fraud. The question is why such raids and FIRs are directed against me Because he (Mr Modi) has managed to scare others using such tactics. I am the only person standing tall against his intimidating tactics,” the CM said.
Mr Kejriwal’s vociferous attack came a day after ACB chief M.K. Meena lodged an FIR against the CM for “shielding” his predecessor Sheila Dikshit.
