Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay complained to the Delhi police commissioner and demanded that an investigation to ascertain the organisation or name of the person linked to these banners.
The Delhi BJP claimed that these banners were derogatory to Prime Minister Modi and alleged the language used was similar to the language used by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. It believes that these banners have been fixed with the purpose of demeaning the Congress and blackmailing it so that in any future alliance, Mr Kejriwal may dominate the Gandhi family.
“It is quite obvious that these banners have a connection with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and another proof is the fact that the MLA of the ruling party, Jarnail Singh, is tweeting it since the morning and promoting them on social media,” said Mr Upadhyay.
He claimed that last week in a press conference Mr Kejriwal’s party had said that it will soon stage a demonstration demanding the arrest of Congress president Sonia Gandhi in AgustaWestland case, but the Congress alliance government in Bihar and the stand of Rahul Gandhi on JNU case has led the Aam Aadmi Party to rethink its political strategy.
“Considering the possibility that it may have to enter into an alliance with the Congress in future, it could not dare print its name on the posters seen in Delhi today. It may be mentioned that printing such posters, banners without a print line is illegal,” added Mr Upadhyay.
In the complaint, the city police commissioner has also been apprised that the last week in a press conference the AAP had addressed Mr Modi in the same language as used in these banners.
“Hence this party (Aam Aadmi Party) may be behind these banners and we demanded that the Delhi police should take legal action against the unauthorised banners and posters put up by the AAP or any other organisation,” said the Delhi BJP president.
