Terming the governance of the AAP government in the national capital as a “complete failure”, the Congress on Saturday said the ruling party had been “finding excuses not to work”, betraying those who elected it to office. The AAP government has scored “zero out of hundred” in its performance in the first year of its term, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said. “It is a complete failure. They could not fulfil their promises. The list is very long,” he said.

The party chief, accompanied by several senior Congress leaders of Delhi, also released a booklet entitled “Kejriwal ek saal, Delhi behaal (One year of Kejriwal: Delhi in a bad shape)” and said the party will go to the people to tell them about the “failures” of the AAP government. On the dev-elopment front too, the Kejriwal government “fa-iled completely” as no new projects have been taken up by it, he said, adding the credit of ma-ny infrastructure projects started by the former Sheila Dikshit government were claimed by it.

The booklet talks about the failures of the government in terms of governance, principles that the AAP espoused, politics of conflict, “stagnation” in development, price rise and the security of women.

“The biggest betrayal has been with people who trusted them,” the Congress leader said.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress (DPYC) also organised a “Funeral March” as a protest against CM Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP government on the completion of 1 year in Delhi. Scores of youth Congress activists under the leadership of Amit Malik, president of the Youth Congress and Sitaram Lamba, secretary Indian Youth Congress and in-charge of the unit along with the people of Delhi marched from the Delhi University Metro station to CM Kejriwal’s residence. The protest was to highlight the failure of the AAP government.

The party will also observe “Chhalawa Diwas” on Sunday by taking out a candlelight march from Rajghat, marking the one-year rule of the Kejriwal government.
