The Delhi Congress on Tuesday launched its “JaagoYaBhaago” campaign to protest against potholes on city roads by displaying a fake crocodile and shark in a Munirka pothole on the Outer Ring Road.

Symbolic protest by the Congress, to highlight the fact that Delhi roads have become dangerous like crocodiles and sharks, was witnessed by a large number of party workers, leaders and local residents at the launch of the #JaagoYaBhaago campaign.

Death of a motorcyclist from Uttam Nagar on the Mehrauli-Mahipalpur road in Vasant Kunj on July 30 is being attributed to a huge pothole.

Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken had announced on Monday that the DPCC would launch #JaagoYaBhaago campaign on WhatsApp No. 9891620771 against the Delhi government and the BJP-ruled MCDs whereby photographs of potholes would be distributed with the details of the name of the road/gali, name of the Assembly/Ward along with the name of the sender, to put pressure on the AAP government and the BJP-ruled MCDs to immediately fill these potholes for the safety of the people.

Prominent among those who participated in the campaign were chief spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee, senior party leader Chattar Singh, and New Delhi District Congress Committee president and municipal councillor Virendra Kasana.
