A 54-year-old woman from Delhi on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar died early on Sunday in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
A 54-year-old woman from Delhi on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar died early on Sunday in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
Beena Gupta was part of the first batch of Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims, Dheeraj Garbiyal, managing director of Kumaun Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) which conducts the yatra told PTI. Though the cause of her death is not known, she was not taking food for the last two days, he said quoting the liaison officer of the batch.
Since the death has taken place in Tibet, the ministry of external affairs in India has been informed of the incident and its directions are being taken to bring back the body, he said. The first batch of Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims was flagged off from Delhi on June 11.
