Chhota Rajan refuses treatment from doctors at Tihar

Underworld don Chhota Rajan has said that he doesn’t want to take treatment from the Tihar Jail’s doctors as they have allegedly complicated his health problems. He has also complained against the doctors of Tihar Jail and has demanded treatment from a panel of expert doctors from AIIMS.

Rajan has complained through a plea moved before a special court that he has been suffering from several diseases and hence needed treatment from specialist doctors. He alleged that instead of specialist doctors he was given preliminary treatment by the jail doctors due to which his health problems worsened. His plea read that he had undergone a bypass surgery in 2011. After the bypass surgery he reportedly had a prostate operation. Rajan is suffering from hernia and also from major bleeding from nose. In recent, past he also had stomach pain for four consecutive days.

He had reportedly informed the jail authority about his health conditions and had demanded treatment from the panel of expert doctors of AIIMS. However, the jail authority provided him treatment from its own doctors. Instead of curing him, the treatment provided to Rajan worsened his health problems. Rajan said that there was no ultrasound facility available in the jail and he feared that the treatment being given to him by the jail doctors could harm him more.

“Jail treatment can harm me, I need treatment from AIIMS doctors,” his plea read. Rajan has now demanded that a team of expert doctors of AIIMS should provide him treatment.

On Monday, the concerned official from Tihar Jail filed the reply on the plea moved by Rajan. On Tuesday, the court will hear the argument on the reply filed by the jail authority.

Deported after being on the run for 27 years, the 55-year-old gangster — whose real name is Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje — is lodged in the Tihar Jail in connection with an alleged fake passport case. Rajan, once a close aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was brought to the country to face trial in more than 71 cases of murder, extortion, and drug smuggling lodged against him in Delhi and Mumbai.
