Three more AAP ministers have been allocated official bungalows by the city administration’s public works department in the national capital. After allocation of official accommodation to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, the city administration recently allocated official accommodation to AAP ministers Gopal Rai, Satyendra Jain and Asim Ahmed Khan.

Mr Kejriwal has been allocated bungalow at 6 Flagstaff Road in the city’s Civil Lines area and Mr Sisodia will soon occupy his four-bedroom duplex accommodation at AB-17, Mathura Road. Mr Kejriwal’s bungalow was earlier occupied by former Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh and the one allocated to Mr Sisodia was in the possession of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit till 2004, before she moved to a bigger bungalow, which is now being occupied by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

At present, Mr Kejriwal along with his family has been living in a Central government flat, allocated to his wife, at Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh. When he first became the chief minister in 2013, he was allocated government accommodation at Tilak Lane.

The PWD has now allocated a bungalow at 206 Rouse Avenue on the D.D.U. Marg behind Bal Bhavan to food and supplies minister Asim Ahmed Khan. The bungalow was earlier allocated to former food and supplies and power minister Haroon Yusuf, who vacated it in March 2014. He is presently living in his Commonwealth Games flat near Akshardham temple.

Delhi transport minister Gopal Rai has been allotted the newly-constructed bungalow number 3 and Mr Jain got bungalow number 2, both at Raj Nivas. The bungalow number 1 and 4 are already occupied by the Delhi lieutenant-governor’s secretariat staff for official purposes.

The six bungalows of the Delhi government, constructed at an estimated cost of over '16 crores, have been lying vacant ever since their completion in 2011. The ministers of the then Sheila Dikshit government had refused to stay in these bungalows due to personal reasons.
