A delegation of Delhi BJP leaders submitted a complaint to newly-appointed police chief Alok Kumar Verma against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan for allegedly using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The delegation, led by city BJP incharge Shyam Jaju, met the police commi-ssioner and lodged a complaint against Mr Khan, demanding action against him. Mr Jaju claimed by showing such uncivilised behaviour, the AAP had displayed its political character in front of the people.
“Insult to the head of the government of a democratic country by an MLA in an official programme is tolerated only in country like India, this is due to the negative politics of the Opp-osition,” added Mr Jaju.
Strongly condemning the video containing derogatory language, city BJP president Satish Upadhyay said that the politics of Opposition parties is surviving on a competition of using abusive language against the Prime Minister.
“Silence of chief minist-er Arvind Kejriwal on the insult to the PM by the MLA of ruling party in his speech in a government fu-nction is actually encouraging the MLA,” added Mr Upadhyay. Even before this incident, Khan has been in the news for using provocative or anti-national language and a case of fixing a hoarding with provocative words is also lodged against him,” added Mr Upadhyay.
The BJP alleged that the AAP MLA was caught on camera delivering speech using derogatory language against Mr Modi. The video, which went viral on social media, allegedly showed Mr Khan, legislator from the Okhla Assembly constituency, using derogatory remarks for the Modi government and urging people to gherao Union home minister Rajnath Singh’s house.
