The BJP on Thursday said that it was happy that its 18 months of sustained campaign against the AAP government has borne fruit and that the Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has accepted that he was not in a position to show his face to the people of Delhi.

“BJP has constantly protested against the false publicity campaign of Kejriwal government but today for the first time we are happy to see a change in their publicity campaign,” said Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay.

He said what started with the recruitment scam has peaked with the establishment of Kejriwal’s own involvement in the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) water tanker scam.

“In the short span of its existence, the Kejriwal government has broken all records of corruption in Delhi,” he added.

“Today the Delhi government has issued a publicity campaign in which the picture of Kejriwal has been replaced by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s picture. This replacement has proved that the chief minister himself understands that he does not command the trust of the people. Therefore today the job of serving the dish of falsehood has been handed over to Manish Sisodia,” the BJP president alleged.

He said that till a few days back the Delhi chief minister was proclaiming that he was the only political leader in the country fighting against the Central government but now, after his principal secretary Rajender Kumar’s arrest on corruption charges, the chief minister is missing from Delhi. People of Delhi demand Mr Kejriwal to come out and speak on the issue.”

BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Thursday criticised the AAP government for selling the dreams of free water and power to the residents of unauthorised colonies... He said no fund has been sanctioned to the municipal bodies to start the requisite survey work mandatory for regularisation of these colonies.

“Residents of unauthorised colonies are facing extreme hardship but the Delhi government has shamelessly issued advertisement saying that due to the transfer of an officer the development work related to roads, drainage and sewers has got stalled,” said Bidhuri.
